Umar Finds Employment!
We are pleased to announce our first intern from our 2016-17 year has found paid employment! During Umar’s second rotation at Project SEARCH he applied for a vacancy as an Admin Assistant at the University of Bradford, was shortlisted for interview, and then offered the position! Congratulations Umar, we will look forward to celebrating with you at Graduation.
“I couldn’t believe when I got the job because I never thought I could get this far. I was only
able to get this far with the help from the Project SEARCH team. I am now working at Bradford University as a HR Admin Assistant and I am enjoying the work that I am doing now, the team I work with are a nice bunch to work with. I am responsible for office based tasks like shredding, filing and inputting data. I haven’t spent all my first wage yet, but I did go to the cinema to see the new power rangers film! My co-workers have asked me to join them at Nando’s when I get my next wage.”
Umar’s colleague told us:
“Umar joined the University of Bradford in March 2017 and has been a pleasure to have on board. Umar has settled into the Admin Assistant role brilliantly and no task has been a problem or any trouble for him, Umar has shown us his computer skills in Excel creating spread sheets and capturing data, other duties in his role include, photocopying, shredding, scanning, collect and distributing post and filing. Umar is very polite and a bubbly character and I am sure over time he will sure us a lot more of his hidden skills and talent.”
